Design doesn’t just mean something looks good, it can create a brand image and convey characteristics like innovation, expertise and quality. In addition to this, design plays an important role as far as the functionality of our products is concerned and is closely connected with their improvement. As a design-conscious supplier to various industries, we can offer our customers the possibility to further define their products with an original design. A clear competitive edge.

70 % of the branded-product manufacturers in Germany admit that design has a significant influence on their companies’ overall profitability, according to the largest study into the importance of design in company performance („The Beauty of Added Value“, 2010 Scholz & Friends).

In order to maintain our claim to value design so highly, and to further expand our competence in this area, we have put together a team within Thermamax, formed of both internal and external experts, to look at new and better products and technologies: TBrain. This inter-disciplinary team draws on expertise from various departments including Design, Thermodynamics, Technology, Research &  Development, and Business Development.

For the Design function we have engaged a designer with many years experience in the Automobile sector. As an external advisor to the Thermamax Design-Studio created at the beginning of 2014, he is supporting  our Design and Sales departments on all aspects of design.

At the SMM exhibition in Hamburg in 2014 we presented the first tangible result of this cooperation, namely a Tmax-Design Study for a marine engine enclosure. It shows that even technical components can be aesthetically attractive. The natural curves radiate a light, modern appearance and a visual originality. It is worth noting that many of the elements of this study were just two-dimensional, avoiding expensive production costs. But appearance and low cost aren’t everything: the enclosure offers more safety, needs fewer parts, and allows a more rigid construction. Beauty with added value you could say.
