From the 17th – 27th Sept. Thermamax makes its debut showing at the IAA Exhibition in Frankfurt presenting its innovative ideas in the field of High-Temperature Insulation Systems. You can expect design solutions today, that will already take account of tomorrow’s requirements.

And that’s not all. On the one hand there is an ever-present trend for downsizing – engine displacement and fuel consumption have to be reduced, but output and performance generally must increase. This apparent contradiction presents us with a real challenge. In addition to that, today’s car owner is more concerned about design matters under the hood. We take this development into account in our own Design Studio to give our high-performance, high-temperature insulation systems an additional visual highlight. We have integrated this know-how into an inter-disciplinary team tBrain, with input from areas including Design, Thermodynamics, Technology, Research & Development and Business Development.

Tmax-Multi-Functional Engine Enclosure
The Multi-Functional Engine Enclosure owes its high-quality appearance to the use of a semi-transparent coating of carbon fibre. In addition to that, it is made of insulation fibre and a bionic structured stainless steel foil that has a thermal and acoustic insulation function. As the insulation is integrated in the engine enclosure, use of additional components can be avoided, reducing the space claim and any additional weight.

Tmax-Turbocharger-Design
Stainless steel foil has an impressive visual impact of course, but its thinness makes it difficult to form and shape. That’s why with the clever use of the Voronoi-structure with its ability to minimize the number of folds, we have been able to develop a process that transforms even the folds into a visually attractive material. Smooth, cleanly formed surfaces make a balanced transition to the modern, aggressive Voronoi-structure and give the heart of the modern engine a visual highlight.
