Thermamax to attend Offshore Support Journal Conference in London

With over 450 delegates from 261 International Companies, the Offshore Support Journal Conference is one of the most important events of the Offshore Industry. Reason enough then for Thermamax to announce some good news...

And it’s not often that design solutions meet requirements as perfectly as in this case. The Mannheim-based specialists in SOLAS-compliant engine marinization are now also offering retrofit Spray Guards for Offshore platforms.

Jaouad Bahaoui, Head of the Marine & Large Engines Division at Thermamax commented: “In applications where our complete enclosures for engine and exhaust line were retrofitted there was a significant reduction in Fire Risks – and a positive influence also on insurance premiums“. Platform operators at the conference in London also showed great interest.

There are additional arguments for the new retrofit solutions: Most of the Caterpillar engines installed on Offshore platforms can already benefit from existing Thermamax designs. That accelerates the implementation according to Bahaoui: “We already have exhaust insulation and spray guard design solutions for nine engines in the program, and we can easily develop solutions for further engines. As an additional option we can also integrate noise reduction features into the design“.

Since the start of the retrofit program Thermamax has noted continuing strong interest in retrofit solutions for the Offshore industry. Bahaoui again: “With the simple retrofit design we really have the ideal solution for our customers – not just from the technical standpoint but also by reducing economic risks“.
