Production Supervisor

Thermamax is a specialist and technology leader in the design and manufacture of thermal and acoustic insulation solutions for engine rooms and exhaust after-treatment systems for diesel engines, spark ignition engines, and electric propulsion systems. Thermamax serves markets such as marine, agriculture, power generation, off- and on-highway. Thermamax, Inc. manufactures high temperature insulation at the facility in Aurora, Illinois.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperat
  • Completes production plan by assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Recommends revisions after analyzing operating practices and personnel requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience as Production Supervisor
  • Ability for coaching and managing people
  • Process analysis and improvement skills
  • MRP experience is of advantage
  • Spot welding Experience is of advantage
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks under close timelines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Excel skills) and Outlook.
  • Computer proficient. ERP Software Systems preferred
  • Experience in operating CNC machine tools like presses and lasers
  • Experience in programming CNC
  • Profound understanding or production processes and production planning
  • Six Sigma/lean management skills are of advantage
