Sales/Project Engineer

Thermamax is a specialist and technology leader in the design and manufacture of thermal and acoustic insulation solutions for engine rooms and exhaust after-treatment systems for diesel engines, spark ignition engines, and electric propulsion systems. Thermamax serves markets such as marine, agriculture, power generation, off- and on-highway. Thermamax, Inc. manufactures high temperature insulation at the facility in Aurora, Illinois.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition of new customers
  • Coordinate engineering cycle from concept to serial production for integral insulation products
  • Technical communication between customer and Thermamax overseas engineering/Sales
  • Key account responsibility for specific customer base
  • Frequent customer visits
  • Technical feasibility reviews with customers to specify product requirements
  • Review customer RFQ and prepare quotes
  • Coordinate customer projects under consideration of timing and budget
  • Maintain project plans, monitor sales and margin budgets
  • Participate in exhibitions and technical conferences


  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • 2+ years’ experience in Sales
  • Profound project management skills and experience
  • High level of result orientation and commitment
  • Self-reliant and well structured
  • High level of customer orientation
  • Very good communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to travel (including US, Canada, Mexico, Germany)
  • CAD skills are of advantage
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • SAP experience is an advantage
